Transportation
Without a Roof Rack
If no roof rack is installed on your vehicle:
- Position two foam protectors at each end of your roof (where it is firmest)
- Carefully rest the kayak on the two protectors.
- Use two straps and two cords to secure it in place.
- Run the two straps over the kayak and inside your vehicle. The first strap should run through the front doors and the second through the back doors of the vehicle. Never run the straps through windows, as you may be unable to open the vehicle doors.
- Attach the bow and stern ends using cords or straps. Do not tighten excessively.

If it rains during your trip, occasionally check the straps and cords because they may stretch when wet.
The use of self-tightening straps is not recommended because it is hard to determine the amount of pressure applied to the kayak.
Check with local authorities for information on the maximum length of craft that may be transported on a vehicle roof.

NOTE: If you plan to transport your kayak several times during the season, we recommend that you purchase a roof rack.
